What Cobra Effect keeps about you, which is very little, and how to delete it. Last updated 19 September 2026.

Without an account

You can use everything without signing in. Which stories you have heard, your test results and your Recall questions are saved on your own device, in your browser's storage. Nothing about you is sent to us.

If you sign in

Signing in is optional. It exists so your progress can follow you to another device. You can sign in with a passkey, which stores nothing about you on our side beyond the passkey's public half, or with your email address, to which we send a one time code.

When you sign in, your progress is copied to a record of its own on our server: the stories you have heard, your test results and your Recall history. If you used an email address, we keep it so we can find that record again. That is the whole record. There is no name, no location, no device identifier and no tracking.

The Account screen has a button that deletes the lot, the record and the email address, at once and for good.

Reminders

If you turn on the daily reminder, your device gives us a push subscription so we can send it. Turning the reminder off removes it.

Asking the narrator

A question you ask about a story is sent to an AI model to answer. The question is not stored with your record and is not used to identify you.

Messages

If you send a hello, a fault or a problem with a story, it goes by email to the person who makes Cobra Effect, with your email address if you chose to give one, and stays in that mailbox.

Counting visits

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count how many people visit. It uses no cookies and no identifiers, so it cannot follow you.

What we do not do

• No advertising, and no advertising trackers.
• No selling or sharing of anything about you with anyone.
• No account needed to read, listen or test yourself.

Where it lives

The service runs on Cloudflare. Everything travels encrypted, and your record is stored in a Cloudflare data store under your own key.
